The Port is already part of the Alameda Corridor – the 20-mile long rail connection between the Port of Long Beach and Los Angeles. The Port of Los Angeles Rail Policy, approved on August 13, seeks to develop additional rail facilities, enhancing already existing infrastructure.
At present, the Port’s rail capabilities – including its Terminal Island Container Transfer Facility – serve Evergreen, NYK terminals and its Pier 400 Intermodal Container Facility that can handle 222 double-stacked railcars.
