ABF Raises LTL Rates by 5.4%

March 5, 2014
ABF Freight plans to raise LTL rates by 5.4% as of March 24.

As expected, no sooner did FedEx Freight announce its plan to increase shipping rates by 3.9% on March 31 than another national less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier followed suit. ABF Freight Systems plans to hike general rates and charges by 5.4% as of March 24, 2014.

According to ABF, the effect on specific lanes and shipments will vary.

Last June, ABF raised its rates by 5.9%.

ABF Freight System Inc. and its sister company ABF Logistics Inc. are wholly owned subsidiaries of Arkansas Best Corporation.
