March 29, 2010
Third-party logistics provider (3PL) Evans Distribution Systems has taken on three new logistics projects at facilities in Lenexa, Kan., Houston, and Memphis, Tenn.

In Lenexa and Houston, Evans oversees labor and automotive crossdock operations for a national trucking company.

In Memphis, Evans works with another 3PL to provide switching and yard management services to an automotive company. The projects have created new positions for onsite managers, drivers and material handlers, according to Evans.

“Our goal is to be a partner in reducing operational costs and making the supply chain easier, whether it’s working directly with a company or enhancing the solutions of another third-party provider,” says Leslie Ajlouny, vice president of business development at Evans. “We’re happy to continue collaborating with third and fourth-party logistics service providers to solve logistics challenges that will lead to more efficient business operations.”

Based in Southeast Michigan, Evans offers warehousing, transportation, contract packaging and staffing services to the manufacturing, food and beverage, consumer goods, and chemical industries. The company operates more than 1.8 million square feet of space in Michigan and Virginia.
