Alameda Is Looking for New Business

Having completed the $2.4 billion project on time and on budget, ACTA has formed an ad hoc committee to look into other projects it might undertake to improve the movement of goods in the region.

Impetus for creation of the ad hoc committee is the perception that increasing cargo volumes are straining the entire regional transportation distribution network and that ACTA may be able to play a role in easing the burden.

The Alameda Corridor project consolidated four branch rail lines into one high-speed freight rail expressway.
