Alta Lift Truck Buys Detroit Forklift

DETROIT—A definitive agreement has been signed under which Alta Lift Truck Services will acquire the assets of Detroit Forklift that offers complete sales, service, parts, leasing and rental in the Metropolitan Detroit area.

Alta Lift carries an extensive line of lift trucks, burden carriers, shelving, ergonomic equipment, racking, in-plant offices, and other storage products. It has more than 258,000 square feet and nine full service locations throughout Michigan. It recently received the highest Yale Material Handling honor as a Dealer of Excellence.

Reflecting on the agreement, Steven Greenawalt, Alta Lift’s president and owner, said, “The acquisition of Detroit Forklift will give us even greater service capacity in Southeastern Michigan. Alta’s continued growth has been supported by our loyal customers and associates, and we’re excited to welcome Detroit Forklift’s associates and diverse customer base to solidify our leading position as a supplier of material handling equipment and services in Metro Detroit.”

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Under the agreement, Alta will retain many Detroit Forklift employees and assets.
