Registration is under way for eBay's third annual community conference, eBay Live! 2004, which takes place June 24-26 in New Orleans. The three-day event brings the eBay marketplace to life as members of the community gather to celebrate their passions for buying and selling on The World's Online Marketplace. The theme for this year's eBay Live! is "Leap to New Heights."
"eBay Live! is about celebrating the extraordinary individuals, entrepreneurs and small businesses who make up the eBay community," said Jeff Jordan, senior vice president and general manager, eBay North America. "This year, we are recognizing the progress users have made in both their personal and professional lives and encouraging them to continue the momentum through programs offered at this year's eBay Live!"
eBay Live! creates a common ground for buyers and sellers from diverse backgrounds to share their stories, have fun and improve their eBay skills. eBay Live! 2004 will offer an expanded schedule of seminars and classes to help users enhance their eBay activities and skills. This year, more than 100 eBay University classes will be offered to buyers and sellers, specifically tailored to meet the needs of beginning, intermediate and advanced users.
Attendees are also invited to listen to presentations from special guest speakers, including Dr. Gary Bradt, leading speaker on change and leadership; Mark Victor Hansen, co-author of Chicken Soup for the Soul series; and Rieva Lesonsky, editorial director at Entrepreneur Media Inc. In addition, eBay category managers will hold numerous roundtable discussions on popular eBay categories, including Apparel and Accessories, Business and Industrial, and Electronics. There will also be community awards, tradeshow booths and presentations by eBay executives, including a keynote speech by eBay CEO Meg Whitman.
Last year, approximately 10,000 people attended the community conference. This year's event will be held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. eBay Live! is open to everyone 18 and over. The cost to attend is $60, which includes all classes, parties and keynote speeches throughout the weekend. Register online at www.ebay.com/ebaylive . Onsite registration will also be available beginning June 24 at the convention center.
