Based on separate meetings with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) officials, both United Airlines and American Airlines have agreed to cut daytime flights at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport to relieve congestion. A total of 62 daily flights will be eliminated during the peak period of 1:00 p.m. and 7:59 p.m.; 27 American flights and 35 United flights. The cuts represent 5% of the flights each airline operates through O'Hare. The flight reductions take effect March 2nd and will continue for six months.
