The Children's Place Retail Stores, Inc. (Secaucus, N.J.) broke ground on a new 700,000 sq.-ft. automated distribution center in Fort Payne, Alabama. The company expects construction to take one year. It currently has three distribution centers in Ontario, Calif.; Dayton, N.J.; and Ontario, Canada.
