COPPELL, Texas—JDF Distribution has added a new 75,000-square foot facility to its logistics operation in Prologis Park in Northwest Houston.
The expansion brings the company’s total warehouse space in Houston to 100,000 square feet. The Houston facility has more than 25 dock doors and ramps, a warehouse and inventory management system, 34-foot ceiling height clearance and a fleet of company-owned trucks on site for pickup and delivery. It is also equipped with digital cameras at all points of entry and motion-tracking cameras on the building exterior.
JDF now operates close to 500,000 square feet of distribution space in Texas. Its other warehouse locations are located in Dallas.
“Houston has become an important distribution market due to the rapid expansion of the Port of Houston, increased cross-border trade with Mexico and the city’s low distribution costs compared to other major U.S. markets,” says Bill Evanson, JDF’s vice president and general manager. “Expansion of our third-party logistics services in Houston is critical to JDF’s growth strategy. We will continue to expand, as needed, to meet our customer’s demand for Houston logistics services.”
