The German food company, Aldi, broke ground on a 515,000 sq.-ft. distribution center in Feribault, Minn., 25 miles south of the Twin Cities. Construction at the 110-acre site near the airport should be completed in October 2007. The property, which will employ 50 people, is in Faribault's Job Opportunity Building Zone (JOBZ), part of Minnesota's tax-free rural economic development program. Aldi, which has more than 5,000 stores worldwide, operates over 700 stores in 26 U.S. states.
