LIMA, Pa.—Pilot Freight Services has been named a SmartWay Transport Partner by the U.S. EPA.
To qualify as a partner, Pilot was required to benchmark its current freight operations and has committed to increase the percentage of freight shipped through SmartWay carriers by at least 10% a year.
The SmartWay Transport program is a collaborative initiative between the EPA and the freight industry designed to increase energy efficiency while reducing greenhouse gases and air pollution.
