FAIRFIELD, Ohio—Alba Manufacturing is using the economic slowdown as an opportunity to make improvements in its product offerings.

Specifically, the company has streamlined its drag chain and transfer conveyors. First, the company incorporated standardized components, which reduces the cost of the equipment. Second, Alba used a center drive configuration, which is now standard on the company’s conveyors. The configuration allows users to reverse conveyor direction and allow for smooth transitions due to smaller end sprockets at both ends of the conveyor, according to Alba.

The changes were completed to reduce costs and speed up production, the company says.
Alba Manufacturing provides pre-engineered lengths of gravity and powered conveyor, true tapered curves, pallet stacker/dispensers, drag chain conveyors, zero pressure accumulation conveyors and transfer cars.
