Kalmar Industries, part of Cargotec Corporation, has relaunched its proven “low-built” forklift to meet the demands of customers requiring a specifically designed handling solution capable of stuffing and stripping standard-sized containers. The latest generation of the Kalmar DCE80-6LB has been thoughtfully engineered to be even more efficient, productive and robust than its widely appreciated predecessor.
Over the years, Kalmar has supplied around 150 low-built machines to operators around the world. Thanks to Kalmar’s reputation for innovation and reliability, customers across Europe are showing increasing interest in the new machine.

The Kalmar DCE80-6LB features a new electrical system and new drive line, using a six cylinder Perkins 1106D engine coupled to a ZF 2VG94 transmission, meeting the latest environmental requirements. Hydraulic hoses feature a new, more robust design and the vehicle appearance has been given a new, more rounded look.
With an 8-tonne lift capacity and a 600 mm load centre, the Kalmar low-built forklift is an extremely versatile handling machine. Its “low-built” nature means that it can be driven directly into a standard height container. The low overall height is achieved by using a carefully designed mast together with a low built cabin. The fork lift truck is fitted with a duplex full free lift mast, with triplex full free lift mast being available as an option. These masts enable the forks to be lifted without raising the mast over the cabin height, which is 2200mm high. The cross member in the mast is U-shaped, providing optimal visibility from the cab.
The new machine is available with two lifting heights. The duplex full free lift can lift to 2035mm and the triplex full free lift to 3060mm. Both offer a forward/backward tilting fork of between five and seven degrees.
