The local Columbus, Ind. Plant of Toyota Industrial Equipment Manufacturing, Inc. (TIEM), has been inducted as a charter member to Indiana's Environmental Stewardship Program. TIEM is one of 14 companies to be inducted for their environmental management system.
TIEM is the U.S. manufacturing plant for Toyota lift trucks and has received Indiana's Governor's Award for Environmental Excellence. TIEM has also implemented recycling initiatives to make it a zero-landfill facility and is a member of the Indiana Partners for Pollution Prevention organization, a voluntary program for Indiana businesses to benchmark and share their success in environmental improvement.
