Swisslog with new release of WarehouseManager Enhanced support of high performance light goods systems

Buchs/Aarau, 10 March 2006 – Swisslog, the provider of logistics solutions, releases Version 3087 of its warehouse management software WarehouseManager. The release includes new functionality to support the increasing demand for high performance light goods systems for cartons, bins and totes. Furthermore, in this latest release of WarehouseManager, the put-away and allocation strategies have been improved, in order to optimize performance and space utilization in high density storage environments.

With over 7,000 satisfied users and more than 120 installed sites all over the world, WarehouseManager has a proven track record as a highly configurable Warehouse Management System (WMS) product. WarehouseManager is part of an integrated product suite used in manual, semi-automated and fully automated environments and has the additional flexibility to be adapted to customer specific requirements. The integrated material flow control module AutomationManager may also be implemented as a stand-alone system and connected to a third party WMS.

Integrated Labor and Cockpit components provide customers full visibility of resources and key performance indicators of the warehouse or distribution center, which results in increased productivity and higher quality of service. In addition, the integration of voice picking gives Swisslog's customers the opportunity to further improve productivity in their warehouses, while achieving picking accuracy of close to 100%.

"With these new functions, we continue to set industry standards for light goods system design and control," says Tim Eick, Head of Software & Control Development at Swisslog, "This means that we can ensure that our customers' facilities are used to their full potential in order to drive optimal business benefit."
