The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA, Naples, Fla.) reported that its April 2005 “booked orders index” increased 9 percent in April over the previous month. The index was up 10 percent over the same month of last year. In contrast CEMA’s “billed sales (shipments) index” for April fell 9 percent from March, and slipped 2 percent from April of last year.
