Designed with fire-retardant characteristics while maintaining the performance demanded in warehousing applications
OCONOMOWOC, Wis. – ORBIS® Corp. offers 19 different plastic pallets approved by Factory Mutual Research Corp. (FM), as having met fire rating requirements equivalent to wood pallets.
These pallets meet Factory Mutual Insurance standards for commodity classification of idle plastic pallets and NFPA 13/2000 requirements, classifying them as representing a hazard “equal to or less than that presented by wood pallets.”
In footprints from 36” x 42” to 48” x 48”, these plastic pallets are available in rackable and stackable styles that:
• Advance Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) by reducing product damage that can occur with splinters and nails from wood pallets.
• Help companies meet their insurance requirements, while maintaining performance characteristics.
• Improve hygiene. To maintain cleanliness, ORBIS pallets are manufactured in non-porous plastic that is easy to keep clean.
• Prevent costly system downtime. Plastic pallets are dimensionally consistent and have no loose or broken stringers to halt conveyors or automated systems.
“Approval from Factory Mutual Research represents a real technological breakthrough and is the result of years of effort,” states Marc Brandt, ORBIS Product Manager. Using advanced technologies, these pallets were designed with fire-retardant characteristics while maintaining the performance characteristics demanded in fast-paced processing, warehousing and distribution applications. These pallets are widely used in food, beverage, pharmaceutical and general industry environments.
This positions ORBIS Corporation as the only North American pallet manufacturer to offer multiple fire-retardant pallets approved by Factory Mutual Research Corporation.
