WASHINGTON—The Competitive Enterprise Institute, a self-described non-partisan public policy group, released a study that, the group says, evaluates the provisions of the Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA), particularly the proposal to “do away with secret ballots.”
“Card-Check Double Standard: Unions’ Hypocrisy on the Secret Ballot,” by F. Vincent Vernuccio, argues unions are not consistent in their views, as many have secret-ballot provisions in their constitutions and have insisted on secret-ballot elections in the past.
