DAP Kinysis Computer

Jan. 28, 2010
The Kinysis tablet computer from DAP Technologies is nine inches wide and weighs a little more than three pounds.

The rugged computer comes with Microsoft Windows, wireless communications and a hot-swappable battery designed to last for an eight-hour shift. It can be used to process customer requests, track inventory, access mapping and how-to guides on demand and communicate with databases in real time or collect data and synchronize it later.

It meets MIL-STD-810F for environmental engineering considerations, including free-fall drop resistance, immersion, rain, humidity and vibration, according to the company.

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless communication technologies are standard. Options include 3G wireless broadband and GPS, vehicle docking cradles and a universal imager that captures still images and reads 1D/2D barcodes and OCR fonts.
