Quantronix Introduces the CubiScan® 1000-VS Dimension Scanning System
New ceiling-mounted cubing and weighing system offers greater capacity Specifications
FARMINGTON, Utah (USA) – March 27, 2006 – Quantronix, a leading provider of automated dimension scanning systems, proudly introduces the CubiScan® 1000-VS. Designed to facilitate quick and accurate measurement of large or palletized freight in most cargo handling and logistics application environments, the CubiScan 1000-VS combines flexibility, accuracy, and durability into one attractive and functional package.
"As volume-based freight manifesting and rating practices have become more commonplace, the CubiScan 1000-VS is a compelling alternative to manual measurement processes,” said Clark Skeen, President of Quantronix. “Evaluation of the system by leading freight carriers has confirmed the viability of the solution,” said Skeen.
Utilizing advanced laser (FDA class II) and camera-based sensing technology – both of which are safe for operators and freight – the CubiScan 1000-VS is robust with a maximum measurement range of 6 x 6 x 8 feet and resolution of 1 inch.
The system, which can work in conjunction with a heavy capacity floor scale, is ceiling-mounted, allowing 360-degree access to the measurement area. This configuration also removes the sensing equipment from harm’s way and saves valuable floor space.
The CubiScan 1000-VS is designed to easily integrate with a variety of equipment such as scale indicators, digital overhead displays, barcode scanning hardware, label printing devices, and RF equipment, and will electronically transfer valuable “dim-weight” information to the existing freight/billing system.
Quantronix has manufactured and installed CubiScan systems in warehousing, distribution, and transportation applications for more than 15 years. The company offers the broadest line of small static, large static, and high-speed/in-line dimension scanning equipment available in the industry today.
