PACCAR (Bellevue, Wash.) held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new parts distribution center near Budapest, Hungary.
PACCAR chairman and chief executive officer Mark Pigott and the U.S. ambassador to Hungary, April Foley, joined Dutch Ambassador Ronald Mollinger, the DAF supervisory board and senior Hungarian state and local officials to celebrate the event.
Set to support DAF’s growth in Central and eastern Europe, the 25,000-sq m facility is due for completion in mid-2008, according to PACCAR, and will use smart tags, tablet PCs and computer-generated voice order fulfillment technologies.
Once complete, the facility will be PACCAR’s thirteenth DC worldwide.
