SATO America, Inc. Introduces Industry’s Fastest Mobile Barcode Printer
New MB200i Series delivers ultimate performance, durability, and mobility
CHARLOTTE, NC – April 18, 2006 – SATO America, a global leader in barcode printing, labeling and EPC/RFID solutions, today announced the introduction of its latest mobile printer, the MB200i. The new MB200i is designed to speed up the mobile printing market by delivering higher performance, durability, and mobility.
The new MB200i mobile printer joins SATO’s family of fast, light, and easy to operate mobile printers. With a high-speed, 32-bit CPU for high throughput printing speeds of up to 4 inches per second, the MB200i is the fastest in its class.
With its maximum roll diameter of 2.6 inches, which allows for less roll changes and less downtime, an outer construction made of polycarbonate and a shock-absorbing mechanism to withstand heavy impact for added durability, as well as a smooth-edged, ergonomically modular design that fits snugly in a user’s hand, the new SATO MB200i mobile printer is in a league of its own.
The sophisticated, onboard mobile processor automatically reduces power consumption by shutting down any unneeded or idle on-chip circuitry and doubling operation time per battery charge as compared to some competitive models.
Bluetooth and 802.11b wireless Ethernet connectivity are also available as optional, factory-installed interface modules. The Wireless Ethernet module is compliant with IEEE802.11b standards. Also, there is support for 64/128bit WEP and WPA (WPA-PSK) Data Encryption, secured with various user authentication standards such as IEEE802.1x, EAP-TKIP, EAP-PEAP, EAP-TLS and EAP-MD5. The MB200i wireless module is equipped with an LCD screen to enable easy monitoring of the wireless network signal strength and printer operation status.
The new, intelligent MB200i mobile barcode printer from SATO America is designed to deliver higher performance and increased durability and is ideal for mobile label printing needs such as ticketing, pick labeling, receipt printing, POS and Product ID labeling.
SATO is a pioneer in the Automatic Identification and Data Collection (AIDC) industry and the inventor of the world’s first electronic thermal transfer barcode printer. It revolutionized the barcoding industry by introducing the Data Collection System (DCS) & Labeling concept – a total barcode and labeling solution providing high quality barcode printers, scanners/hand held terminals, label design software and consumables. SATO is one of the first in the industry to introduce a complete, multi-protocol EPC-compliant, UHF RFID solution.
SATO is publicly listed on the first section of Tokyo Stock Exchange in Japan.
