With the goal of increasing internal collaboration and maximizing its transportation network, Georgia-Pacific Corp. (Atlanta) has chosen Waukesha, Wis.-based RedPrairie's DLx Transportation Management Solution.

"Flexibility and scalability were 'must haves' for Georgia-Pacific as we strategically chose a technology partner for mission-critical TMS applications," explains James Dallas, Georgia-Pacific’s CIO. Georgia-Pacific will leverage RedPrairie's transportation management suite to achieve labor and operational efficiencies, including: improved freight consolidation, optimized carrier assignments and load planning. Its goal is to stay competitive in the market by reducing costs to customers, improving service delivery time and cutting operational costs.

As the third largest shipper in North America, Georgia-Pacific's large freight volume and dynamic order flow create challenging transportation scenarios. RedPrairie's continuous planning and execution engine, COPLEX, is suited to handle Georgia-Pacific's dynamic real-time delivery needs.

"Georgia-Pacific enjoys a unique synergy with RedPrairie," Dallas says. "Our teams are both innovative, the people from both companies are excited about making each project work and we communicate closely with each other at all organizational levels. This is what has made our partnership so successful and positive over the years." Georgia-Pacific uses RedPrairie integrated solutions, including warehouse management, transportation management, workforce performance management and RFID applications.
