HK Systems (Milwaukee), a provider of logistics management and RFID solutions, formed a value-added reseller (VAR) partnership with SAMSys Technologies, Inc. (Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada), a provider of radio frequency identification (RFID) hardware solutions. Under the agreement, HK Systems will offer SAMSys RFID reader and antenna equipment as part of their integrated RFID solutions.

SAMSys RFID readers support multiple protocols and frequencies, offering maximum flexibility in RFID tag selection and adaptability to regional regulations. The company has reportedly just released the first reader in the industry that is capable of reading tags that comply with the EPC Generation 2 (Gen 2) standard, while simultaneously supporting first-generation tag protocols to enable organizations to deploy Gen 2 tags alongside legacy RFID installations without having to change the entire tag infrastructure.

"SAMSys equipment has a proven track record of adaptability across the supply chain. Their ability to interface with diverse tag structures complements the solutions we provide to manage complex material flows found in EPC tagging processes,” said Dave Adams, HK Systems' vice president of RFID Solutions.
