A new handheld terminal by Nordic ID combines fast wireless collection of product data from different sources with voice communication. The new product makes data collecting easier than ever and removes the need for users to carry several devices at the same time.

The new terminal, named Nordic ID Morphic, is more compact but yet more powerful than its predecessors. It will be introduced at the world’s leading investment goods fair for the retail industry, Euroshop in Düsseldorf, Germany at the end of February 2008.

Like all of our products the new handheld is first and foremost a working tool. That is why we‘ve designed it to be small enough to fit comfortably in the hand, with easy-to-use ergonomic controls. It’s also tough enough to withstand working conditions in all sorts of application environments, says Jorma Lalla, CEO, Nordic ID.

He believes that the new handheld’s compact ergonomic design and intuitive user interface will win favour with users across a wide range of industries.

The new handheld terminal can be used with existing Nordic ID wireless data collection systems. It will also be upgradeable to, for example, RFID with little further investment. Shaped like a mobile phone it is easy to use with one hand and its operating logic is very straightforward, Jorma Lalla points out.
