With seven months to go before PACK EXPO International 2006 opens on October 29 in Chicago, the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (PMMI, Arlington, Va.) is expanding exhibit space in the Containers & Materials Pavilion to meet increased demand.

More than 100 companies already occupy space in the Containers & Materials Pavilion. To satisfy continued interest from suppliers of advanced materials, PMMI is further expanding the Pavilion. The Containers & Materials Pavilion will also include an expanded Showcase of Packaging Innovations, which will display hundreds of award-winning packages from leading associations in the packaging industry.

In addition to the exhibitors in the Containers & Materials Pavilion, 38% of PACK EXPO International exhibitors will be showcasing containers, packaging formats and materials as a major product category. This portion of the show will equal over 240,000 net square feet of space, ensuring packagers will find a wide array of high-performance materials and containers that ensure product freshness, provide greater convenience and protect brand integrity.

"PACK EXPO will feature the largest, most comprehensive showcase of packaging innovations, making it the must-attend show of the year," says Charles D. Yuska, president of PMMI. "Packagers will have access to a powerful combination of advanced materials and new machine technologies, helping them introduce unique concepts to market faster and increase brand turnover at point-of-sale."

Attendees can gain further packaging insight by visiting several other technology pavilions at PACK EXPO International 2006. With a single admission badge, packagers will also have access to the new Brand Protection Center, the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Pavilion and the Contract Packaging Pavilion.

To gain even more value from PACK EXPO, packagers should visit the co-located PROCESS EXPO (formerly the Food Processing Machinery EXPO) and the Converting and Package Printing Expo (CPP EXPO).

In total, visitors to PACK EXPO International 2006 will have access to more than 1,900 machinery, materials, components, containers, converting and processing exhibitors - the most comprehensive exhibition of packaging technology and trends this year. Thousands of packaging solutions will be available to the over 50,000 decision makers and purchasing influencers who are expected to attend, including 6,000 international visitors from more than 75 countries.
