GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Schneider Logistics Inc., an international lead logistics provider, announced a new release of its SUMIT suite of supply chain execution software. The new release includes enhancements to the European version of the planning and optimizing functionality within the SUMIT suite of applications, additional functionality to Schneider Logistics' Rate Server and SUMIT CVN (Collaborative Visibility Network) designed to assist customers in successfully managing complex, global supply chains, as well as enhancements to business intelligence.

The new release offers improved business intelligence, including analytical reporting for Schneider Logistics small package customers. These volume and performance reports aid customers in viewing the dynamics of their small package shipments and enables them to proactively address performance and cost challenges in their supply chains. SUMIT also provides supplier and carrier scorecards with metrics capturing supplier responsiveness, execution to ordered quantities and requested timelines, as well as carrier pickup and delivery on-time rates and claims ratios. Additionally, the new release marks the first of a multi-phase functional expansion of SUMIT's planning and optimizing tool, Schneider Shipment Planner, designed for use in Europe.

"Each enhancement and addition to the SUMIT application suite demonstrates our responsiveness to customer need and our commitment to delivering the best supply chain execution software to help Global 2000 companies improve their supply chains," said Vava Speidel, vice president of product management, Schneider Logistics. "Our team of logistics professionals understands companies need supply chain visibility and business intelligence that extends across borders and industries, and we are continually evolving our technology to help our customers maintain their competitive advantage."

Schneider Logistics and its customers have managed billions of dollars through the SUMIT suite since its launch in 1995. Delivered through a hosted application model, SUMIT technology gives Schneider Logistics customers access to a network of more than 10,000 supply chain providers, including 1,300 carriers across all modes of transportation.
