Dayton, Ohio — Motoman Inc.’s SP-series robots provide fast, flexible and highly reliable solutions for a wide variety of end-of-line palletizing applications. Payloads range from 70 kg (154.4 lbs. to 500 kg (1,102.5 lbs.). These dedicated palletizing robots feature four axes of motion, except for the economical five-axis SP80X robot. The SP-series robots listed below are all floor-mounted. The SP100XF model is specially modified to work in subzero temperatures as low as -30°C (-22°F) degrees.
Motoman robots are highly reliable and provide consistent palletizing of product, reduce damage to fragile product, offer flexibility to add slipsheets between layers, and also accommodate rapid changeover. Robotic palletizing also reduces or eliminates worker compensation claims arising from back pain and repetitive motion injuries associated with manual palletizing.
The SP-series robots can be combined with Motoman standard palletizing modules, such as pallet locators, grippers, valve packs, and pallet conveyors, pallet dispensers, pallet racks, slipsheet racks, and cell controls, to meet customers’ robotic palletizing needs.
SP-series robots are controlled by the Motoman XRC 2001 robot controller, which features an award-winning programming pendant design, fast processing, and easy-to-use INFORM II programming language. Advanced Robot Motion (ARM) control provides high performance path accuracy and vibration control. Dynamic acceleration is based on payload, so cycle time is reduced. Programmable acceleration and deceleration eliminates approach points and results in reduced teaching time. PC-based off-line programming is available as an option to simplify programming of palletizing applications.
