Grainger, a large distributor of facilities maintenance supplies, recently added new tools to help its customers comply with the reporting requirements of stimulus spending under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
When customers use stimulus funds to place orders for maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) products, Grainger customer service representatives flag the orders as such. Similarly, when customers click the ARRA box while ordering online, the order is flagged. Grainger can then provide a report showing each customer’s consolidated ARRA purchases.
Grainger also provides country of origin information to customers to help them comply with the “Buy American” provision.
"Our customers told us they needed help in navigating the compliance of ARRA-related spending, and we have enhanced our systems and added new tools to make it easier to track their spending and comply with the requirements,” says Paul Kindzierski, vice president of industrial supply sales. “As their MRO supply partner, we are stocking the products they need for related projects so they can consolidate purchases with Grainger, saving their organization time and money and allowing them to focus their resources on their core business."
