SSA Global Technologies Inc., a provider of extended enterprise solutions and services, has acquired Provia Software, Inc., a provider of order-to-delivery supply chain execution (SCE) solutions. The acquisition will provide SSA Global with a small-to-medium market SCE solution for distribution-intensive companies.
SSA Global will be able to offer its customers an integrated web services offering that features warehouse management, order management, analytics, transportation management and RFID capabilities. Provia’s solution complements SSA Global’s existing supply chain management (SSA SCM) offerings, which target larger, high volume distribution fulfillment customers. By adding Provia, SSA Global can now offer demand driven solutions for any size company’s supply chain.
SSA Global believes there are strong synergies between its offereings and Provia’s, given that many of SSA Global’s large customer base serve these same industries, including third-party logistics (3PL), consumer packaged goods, food and beverage, high tech & electronics, wholesale and retail.
SSA SCM, which includes SSA Advanced Planning and Scheduling, SSA Warehouse Management and SSA Transportation Management, is a comprehensive solution utilized by retailers, logistics and distribution companies, and manufacturing firms to fuse the demand chain with the supply chain. SSA SCM provides companies with the ability to forecast demand; take an order; give an accurate promise date; source and manufacture the right goods; position inventory properly; and pick, pack and ship while maintaining a minimal finished goods inventory.
