Schenker Expands in Middle East

He continued, saying the company plans to set up more country organizations in the Middle East region and in East Africa.

From the Dubai base, Schenker will coordinate its activities in the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Israel, Palestine, Syria, Yemen, Lebanon, Egypt, Sudan, Eritrea, Somalia, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.

Schenker, which, along with BAX Global is part of the Deutsche Bahn DB Logistics subsidiary, pointed out the port of Jebel Ali in Dubai is expanding annual capacity to 15 million twenty-foot-equivalent units (TEUs) and its new airport is expected to handle 12 million tons of air freight per year.
