Maersk Distribution Integrated into Damco

Maersk Distribution Services will be integrated into Damco, the logistics arm of A.P. Moller-Maersk

Damco, the logistics arm of A.P. Moller-Maersk and a provider of freight forwarding and supply chain management solutions, has announced that Maersk Distribution Services Inc. (MDSI) will be integrated into Damco.

MDSI generates about $200 million in revenue per year in the United States and Canada and employs more than 600 people. It is a warehousing and distribution company which delivers cross-docking, transload, warehousing and inland transportation services to customers from its 18 facilities in the major ocean and rail gateways in North America.

In recent years MDSI has reorganized, optimized and upgraded its facilities and are now well positioned for growth. The integration of MDSI with Damco will enable postponed decision making for final allocation of cargo to each store.

With MDSI now part of the organization, Damco employees around 1,000 people and generates more than $500 million in revenue in North America.

Damco is the combined brand of the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group's logistics activities.
