The Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) program provides small businesses with funding to develop commercially viable technologies to answer federal research and development requirements.

“Although small businesses are a frequent sources of technological innovation,” says Transportation Secretary, Norman Y. Mineta, “many lack the necessary funding to support their research. We are looking for small businesses and entrepreneurs across the country who will provide the next transportation technology breakthrough.”
