ISM to certify supply management professionals

The Institute for Supply Management (ISM) (www.ism.ws) has announced a new certification title for supply management professionals: Certified Professional in Supply Management. The CPSM title will debut in 2008.

The CPSM qualification will address multidimensional roles such as strategic sourcing, commodity-management, logistics management, supplier relationship management and supplier diversity. The examination process will include workplace complexities such as risk and compliance management, strategic sourcing, social responsibility and increased skills needed for supply professionals to drive value in their organizations.
