Far Eastern Conference Adds Fees

The Far Eastern Freight Conference lines implemented a rate restoration program this month for cargo moving from Asia to the Mediterranean ports, Northern Europe, and Scandinavia. A $150-per-TEU charge will be applied from Oct. 1 through Dec. 31, 2003. A $75-per-TEU surcharge will be applied to cargo bound for the UK. Cargo moving from Northern Europe and Scandinavia to Asia will also be charged $150 per container. A $150-per-container charge took effect October 15th for cargo moving from Mediterranean ports to Asia.
