Supply Chain Concerns Amidst Tariffs

May 20, 2025
Rising raw material costs and supply chain disruptions are major concerns due to tariffs, says new EBM survey.

Looking at the effect of tariffs on the supply chain, a new survey found that the most common pain points for businesses are rising raw material costs and supply chain disruptions, both reported by nearly 4 in 10 respondents.

The survey was conducted by Endeavor Business Intelligence, the research arm of Material Handling & Logistics parent company Endeavor Business Media, of nearly 200 leaders from across the economy, with the manufacturing, automotive, and construction sectors accounting for about two-thirds of respondents.

While some companies are seeing increased demand for domestic alternatives, far fewer report issues tied to international sales or supplier loss.

Notably, nearly a third say they’ve experienced no direct impact so far, underscoring the uneven, but growing, reach of the tariffs across sectors.

An interesting conclusion from the poll is that uncertainty stemming from tariffs and other trade disputes has led nearly four out of 10 leadership teams to avoid making major strategic actions but instead adopt a wait-and-see stance.
