Here's a quick look at recent offerings from the forklift manufacturers mentioned in this article:

To manually move goods a short distance, Jungheinrich Lift Truck Corp. has introduced its AM 2200 hand pallet truck. Rated with a capacity of 5,500 lbs., the truck is highly maneuverable with a short head-length of just 14.7 inches.

The AM 2200's tiller handle works for either left-or right-handed operators. Its hydraulic system pumps a pallet clear of the ground with just three strokes, and five strokes moves it to the truck's maximum lift height of 4.8 inches. A precision valve permits gentle lowering and precise set-down of loads.

Offered in nine models with capacities ranging from 3,000 to 6,500 lbs., Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks offers its FBC15N-FBC30LN N-Generation of AC-powered electric forklift trucks.

N-Generation trucks have five preprogrammed performance modes, permitting quick adjustment of travel speed, lift speed, acceleration rate, and regenerative and auto regenerative braking to match specific performance requirements. For optimum driving performance,-torque and speed are controlled separately. The AC drive system is designed to prevent heat-induced complications and downtime.

Raymond Corp.'s ACR System combines AC technology and ergonomic design. The System is part of the Model 7400 Reach-Fork truck, available in capacities from 3,200 to 4,500 lbs.

An open view mast design gives the operator a clear view of the base legs, load and rack. Model 7400's A-frame suspension offers a steered idler wheel to enhance stability and eliminate caster snap to prevent jarring of the truck, load and operator.

A display panel with a large screen presents real-time data, including time, battery charge and weight on the forks. Spring suspension and a patented inertial dampener work to reduce shocks and sways in the operator's compartment.
