Hyderabad, December 15, 2003: Satyam Computer Services Ltd. (NYSE: SAY), today announced that it has recently implemented SAP at Eagle Insurance, one of the bigger players in the Insurance sector in Sri Lanka, which has gone live successfully.

Satyam implemented SAP for Eagle’s General Ledger Management Information within a period of 7 weeks, making it one of the fastest implementations of SAP worldwide.

“The benchmark implementation period for SAP is said to be approximately 7 to 9 months for this kind of an implementation. But we managed to go live within 7 weeks with the total commitment & dedication of the Eagle SAP team coupled with a professional implementation partner like Satyam Computer Services Ltd. The team was committed to achieve the set goal and exceeded the expectations of the company,” the Project Manager of Eagle SAP, Sunjeewani Kotakadeniya said

Eagle had also made history as the first company in Sri Lanka to implement the latest version of SAP [4.7]. SAP Version 4.7 comes with many new features & flexibility to integrate with other systems and is web & internet enabled.

In it’s pursuit to manage long term risks and deliver best results to its shareholders, Eagle selected SAP as their long term financial solution. They hope to significantly enhance operational efficiency in providing MI while achieving cost reductions in maintenance, incurred on their previous GL system.
