January 21, 2003-Grand Rapids, Mich.-Provia Software, a leading provider of order-to-delivery fulfillment software solutions, announced that Verst Group Logistics (www.verstgroup.com), a third party logistics provider (3PL), has gone live with Provia's FourSite 3PL software product at a two facility campus in Walton, Kentucky. The two facilities total just under half a million square feet of storage space.
As the largest family-owned 3PL in the Midwest, Verst offers public and contract warehousing, transportation services, cross-docking, pick/pack fulfillment, contract packaging/labeling, and reverse logistics for clients in the CPG and paper industries.
According to Jason Gindele, IT Manager for Verst, "Before going live, Provia worked closely with our implementation team to train us on the system and empower us to take ownership of the go-live, and as such, we required limited on site support from Provia during the actual implementation. They were available if we needed them, but the training we received let our team handle the roll out of the software."
Some of the functionality in Provia's FourSite that Verst will be utilizing includes multi-client billing, radio frequency (RF), kitting, labor management, automated billing, Internet inventory visibility and integrated reporting. "With FourSite, we can now offer our clients more," continued Gindele. "More service, more technology, and more functionality. Internally, our ability to seamlessly integrate with Crystal Reports and Loftware have already made our lives much easier. Combined with the Internet inventory visibility, our staff now has a much more intelligent view our supply chain and a higher level of visibility."
Having yet another client go live with little or no assistance from Provia illustrates the company's "Total Cost of Ownership" (TCO) approach, where clients are able to realize the benefits of their supply chain execution quickly and continue to realize the benefits long after the initial implementation. "Like many Provia clients, Verst embraced our TCO methodology and worked closely with us so they would fully understand the system well before go live," said Provia president and CEO Ken Lewis. "Having an in-depth understanding of the system allowed Verst to hit the ground running. The Verst implementation team was very thorough and this contributed to a successful go live. Verst is now empowered to fully maximize their investment in Provia."
