Heartland Merges with AutoGuide to Enter AGV Market

Heartland calls this a significant step in the company’s business plan to develop and manufacture AGV products.

Heartland Automation Solutions LLC, Marysville Mich., changed the name of its recently acquired material handling automation business, Industrial Concepts Incorporated (ICI), to Heartland Automation. In addition, Heartland Automation is merging with AutoGuide LLC, manufacturers of Automatic Guided Vehicles (AGVs).

Heartland’s president and CEO stated that acquiring AutoGuide is a significant step in the company’s business plan to develop and manufactur AGV products. AutoGuide will become a product division of Heartland Automation and will be located at its recently expanded Georgetown, Kentucky facilities. Paul Perry, one of the former owners and past president of AutoGuide will remain with the company as director of the division.
