IDEX Corp. (www.idexcorp.com), a manufacturer of fluid-handling products, has named Thomas Giordano VP, supply chain and logistics. He was previously president of Fortune Enterprises.

Pat Reed has been named executive vice president and chief operating officer of FedEx Freight Corp. (www.fedex.com). He was previously president and CEO of FedEx Freight East; those positions will now be held by Larry Miller, previously senior vice president of FedEx Freight East.

Kevin Barry has been named vice president of global supply chain management for VeriFone Inc. (www.verifone.com), a producer of electronic payment devices. He was previously with Solectron.

DXP Enterprises Inc. (www.dxpe.com), a distributor of maintenance, repair, operating and production products, has named Vincent Esposito vice president of supply chain management. He was previously with Safety-Kleen.

Rail carrier Norfolk Southern Corp. (www.nscorp.com) has promoted Charles Moorman to president. He had previously served as senior VP corporate planning and services.

PeopleSoft Inc. (www.peoplesoft.com), a provider of enterprise application software, has named company founder and chairman Dave Duffield as CEO. He replaces Craig Conway, who has been dismissed. Kevin Parker and Phil Wilmington have been promoted to co-presidents.

Steelwedge (www.steelwedge.com), a provider of enterprise planning and performance management software, has named Timothy Campbell president and CEO. He was previously president and CEO of Industri-Matematik International.

Freight Hauling Logistics has named Daniel Egan president, Special Services Group. He was previously with C.H. Robinson and Exel.

The Council of Logistics Management (www.clm1.org), soon to be renamed the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CLM), has named Mark Richards president of the association. He is vice president of Associated Warehouses Inc.

John Mentzer from the University of Tennessee (www.utk.edu) was this year's recipient of the CLM Distinguished Service Award.

SkyBitz (www.skybitz.com), a provider of satellite-based asset monitoring services, has named Rick Burtner CEO; he had been interim CEO since April 2004, after joining the company as CFO in May 2003.
