Transportation Dispute Resolution, a new organization providing mediation and arbitration services to the transportation industry, has launched its operations. The company is headquartered in Fort Worth, Tex., with offices in three other states.

The company’s panel of mediators and arbitrators consists of retired transportation attorneys experienced in all forms of transportation, including rail, motor, ocean and air carriage, involved with shippers, carriers and intermediaries.

Michael Roper, a member of the firm and a former attorney with BNSF Railway Company, notes that “all of the federal regulatory agencies dealing with transportation have encouraged the use of mediation and arbitration in resolving transportation disputes. We hope to be able to fulfill that need.”

Other members of the firm include Ann Pougiales, formerly in the private practice of transportation law; William McCurdy, a former judge, general counsel with Sentinel Transportation and logistics and commerce counsel with E.I. DuPont de Nemours and Co.; and Nicholas DiMichael, who was former general counsel of the National Industrial Transportation League and has represented a variety of companies engaged in transporting products domestically and internationally.
