The Pallet Dawg , developed with input from CHEP (Orlando, F l a . ) engineers by Raymond Corp. (Greene, N.Y. ) , specifically addresses challenges suppliers and retailers have with damaged pallets by reducing hard contact with lift trucks. CHEP is now offering its own Blue Guardian device to accomplish the same goal.
Both the Blue Guardian and the Pallet Dawg are frames with an energy-absorbing bumper that attach to the front of a lift truck, behind the tines, to redirect impact force away from where valuable product is located to the more durable center of the pallet. They work on all block or stringer pallets and are easily installed with no permanent modification to the lift truck, other than requesting a data plate change from the lift truck manufacturer.
