New regular direct flights between Schenker airfreight hubs in Hahn, Germany and Toledo, Ohio are the first result of the acquisition of BAX Global by the global provider of integrated logistics services. DB Logistics, the transportation and logistics division of Deutsche Bahn AG, Schenker’s parent company, acquired BAX Global on November 17, 2005.
Schenker claims that together with BAX Global, it is second in global airfreight and third in integrated heavy freight in the U.S. For some time the company has been offering successful weekly flights between Europe and the Asia-Pacific. “The new flight will add to the integrated services we already offer our customers on a global basis,” says Thomas Mack, vice president Airfreight, Schenker AG. “It is part of our global network that we will continue to develop. Our next focus will be the development of a similar product on the Trans Pacific trade lane.”
