While the economy continues to sputter along at an unimpressive rate, at least one sector has been growing well ahead of national trends: The number of new warehousing jobs has increased by 106,000 over the past five years. All told, warehouses of all types account for 741,000 jobs in the United States.
Headlight Data recently crunched the numbers and identified the U.S. counties that added the most jobs between 2013 and 2014. While two West Coast counties top the list, other warehousing hotspots include eastern Pennsylvania/western New Jersey/Delaware Valley, the Southeast and the Midwest. Headlight Data based its findings on U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data (an annual average for NAICS 493: warehousing and storage).
