VERNON HILLS, Ill.—Duncan Murphy, president of Riekes Equipment Co. in Omaha, Neb., is the new president of the Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association (MHEDA).
Murphy has big plans for 2009. "We're targeting programs for the market that we're facing. The education calendar is going to be chock full of specific offerings that will teach members how to thrive in trying times," he says.
"MHEDA isn't just a convention or a social group, it truly is a development tool that people in all levels of a company need to view as a good use of that most valuable of commodity—their time," he explains.
In addition to the new president, there are several fresh faces on the MHEDA board. They include: Bradley Baker, vice president/treasurer/operations manager/CEO of Cardinal Carryor in Louisville, Ky.; John Faulkner, president of FMH Material Handling Solutions in Denver; and Scott Lee, president of Conveyor Solutions in Schaumburg, Ill. Jeff Long, vice president of sales and services of EnerSys, joins the manufacturers board of advisors.
