KUKA Robotics Corp. (Clinton Township, Mich.), a global manufacturer of industrial robots, was selected by SEIS Group, Inc. (Huntington Beach, Calif.) to supply its KUKA KR 180 PA palletizing robot and PalletTech palletizing software for SEIS’ new palletizing cells. KUKA Robotics recently partnered with SEIS to expand its robotic integration services across the western United States and will be debuting the new palletizing cell and robotics capabilities at the upcoming ATX West Show in Anaheim, Calif., January 31-February 2.
“The drawbacks of manual palletizing, including employee injury, inefficiency and slow palletizing speeds, are well known to today’s manufacturers,” said Brian Mullins, co-founder and co-chairman of the board of directors for SEIS Group, Inc. “Automating this process is a natural solution. With KUKA products and our integration capabilities we can give manufacturers a high performance, reliable system they need to improve and expand their business.”
The KUKA KR 180 PA palletizing robot is a light, fast & powerful robot developed especially for high-speed tasks with heavy payloads. State-of-the-art materials (Carbon fiber composites) make the robot extremely light, without sacrificing high stiffness. Its FEM-optimized kinematics have been adapted especially for palletizing. The leaner design of this 4-axis robot brings savings in maintenance and servicing.
