    PMMI Begins Selection Process for Packaging Hall of Fame

    ARLINGTON, Va.—PMMI has selected the members of the 2009 Packaging Hall of Fame Commission, a group of packaging professionals who select the annual Packaging Hall of Fame inductees.

    The Hall of Fame Commission includes representatives from PMMI as well as end users from Hershey Foods, Scotts Miracle-Gro and ConAgra Foods, among others.

    According to PMMI, any industry professional may nominate a candidate for the Hall of Fame. Ideal nominees are career packaging professionals, living or deceased, who have advanced the science, technology and practice of packaging; expanded packaging knowledge and understanding of packaging; and served as a volunteer leader in the packaging community.

    The deadline for nominations is Aug. 3. The final inductees will be recognized during a fundraising awards reception during Pack Expo, which takes place Oct. 5-7 in Las Vegas.
