Gain Industry Insight at the SMC3 Conference

May 13, 2009
Experts in global economics and industry legislation offer expertise on today’s trends and provide their perceptions on the balance of the year and first quarter of 2010.

The SMC3 2009 Summer Conference, "Fwd: Momentum. Supply Chain's Look Ahead," will be June 24-26 at the Loews Lake Las Vegas Resort in Henderson, Nev. Educational sessions will feature real-world case study presentations and success stories in transportation management, strategic freight bidding and supply chain technology implementation.

Among presenters this year is Stifel, Nicolaus & Co.’s David Ross who will detail operational challenges and how these impact shipping costs and carrier profit margins. Providing insight into alignment of business processes and state and federal legal requirements is attorney John Bagileo.

Roger Bezded, Ph.D., will explain how global warming legislation and "cap-and-trade" programs may impact the supply chain. Donald Ratajczak, Ph.D., will share his unique point-of-view as the global marketplace continues its correction.

In addition to the educational component of the Conference, there are ample opportunities for networking. Jack E. Middleton, SMC³ president and CEO, notes, "In supply chain management, cost containment and operational efficiency are imperatives to overall business success. Those who shoulder this responsibility owe it to themselves and their organization to examine and apply best business practices—information they can only get through ongoing industry education and peer networking."
