Air freight volumes rose 3% in the first quarter of 2006 for Kuhne + Nagel while ocean freight volumes were up 20.1%. Ground operations in Europe also improved, in part due to acquisitions.

The Swiss logistics services company achieved a 41.7% increase in revenues. First-quarter revenues of CHF 4.29 billion ($3.37 billion) compared with CHF 3.02 billion ($2.37 billion) in the same period of 2005.
